PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES

            Student attendance at Briarwood Christian Academy, Inc. opens a new world of opportunity for families to experience.  This non-conventional avenue for education that many have chosen will embark families on a journey filled with adventure, perseverance, and character-building memories. 

            Keeping this in mind, parents will be able to positively handle situations that may arise. The task that God has given to parents to do according to Proverbs 22:6 is to “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”  Training is the key word. God bless each and every family that embarks on this mission with us.

The objective in building a private Christian school is to obey the Scriptural imperatives of Deuteronomy 6:5-7 to “…love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all they soul, and with all thy might.  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…” and of Proverbs 22:6 to train up a child in THE way he SHOULD go.  Teaching is training.  Training for life must include training for eternity.

It is our desire to have our Christian school become an extension of the Christian home in training young people in a Christian environment for time and eternity.  Our church and staff will work closely with parents to train the whole child.

Each student is privileged to learn under a born-again, Bible-believing, Christian supervisor who attempts to model Christ-like behavior.  As students grow and develop, each of these “models” of Christ enables them to understand the way in which the Christian life is to be lived.  Whether through activity, lecture, or discovery, students learn in a context that is thoroughly Christian.

Attendance at this school is not a governmental right, but truly a God given privilege.  Our goal is the training of Christian youth in the highest principles of leadership, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and good citizenship.  This school stands without apology for the everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ and the highest standards of morality and Christian behavior.

Finally, the Word of God instructs us to “do all in the name of the lord Jesus” (Col. 3:17) and to “do it heartily” (Col. 3:23).  Therefore, our goal is to provide academic excellence in every facet of the program.  Whether it is Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Word Building or any other subject, we strive for the very best instructional strategies in the A.C.E. materials and curriculum.  This emphasis on quality extends to all areas of academic life.

Briarwood Christian Academy is conveniently located near Fort Leonard Wood and St. Robert, Missouri, 2 1/2 miles North of I-44 on Hwy. 28.
